THE PORTSMOUTH RAMBLERS GROUP MINUTES OF
2022 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Held on Saturday 12 November 2022 at Liss Pavilion
The AGM commenced at 2.30pm with 21 members present.

Apologies were received from David Farrow, Sue Gibson. Mike Powell, Frances MacErin, Kathy Hand. Trish Bying, Ian Chandler, Mary Weston and Jennifer Meagan.
David Nichols thanked Angie for the walk and Peter R and Peter C for setting up the hall.
Minutes of the AGM held 6 Nov 2021 were unanimously agreed to be an accurate record.
Matters Arising:
Events this year have gone well, Christmas Dinner was well received, and Ian C is arranging another one for this year. Monday walks are continuing thanks to Ian C and Bernie T. There have been no lifts from Cosham unless requested on the WhatsApp lift request.
David organised a good walk in London in June but the Sept one had problems due to trains and the Queen death. The trip to the Bombay Gin Distillery went well and Ian also organised a very pretty walk.
We are short of leaders as some have not come back after Covid. We may have some new leaders in the future.
ADOPTION OF THE ANNUAL REPORTS
Officers’ Annual Reports were circulated in advance with the Agenda so members had a chance to study them.
The reports were adopted – unanimously agreed.

Peter C explained his report
Nigel T asked a question about the different price of the Hall Hire, this was explained that meeting was not held during Covid and now we have 4 committee meeting a year at a cost of £15 for each meeting.
A question was raised about Kissing Gates, and if we have a choice of where the gates go.
Peter explained that David Nixon organises this, but we can make recommendations. There has been a delay with the Gates as the programme is still not running the same as before Covid. Hampshire did have storage facilities that we could use but these are no longer available. David Nichols is happy to take our recommendations forward but there could be problems with landowners
ELECTION OF OFFICERS
David explained that he had a hearing problem. Last year he found that he could not hear people speaking from the floor.
He is happy to continue as Chair but if this becomes a problem Peter R is happy to take over the role.
All the current members of the committee are happy to continue, and this was agreed by all.
Ian Chandler as agreed to come on to the committee as a member, he has organised the Christmas Dinner which has been a help to David N.
Peter R proposed and David seconded – unanimously agreed.
Future walks programme
The Shipwright Way went well but has problems with transport, minibuses are very expensive and unrelievable. Ian C stepped in to help with the Rugby Minibus. Peter has looked at the Serpent’s Trail, but this is not feasible. Public Transport is at problem at the moment.
The London walk has a provisional date of June 10th
Christmas Walk Saturday 17th Dec mince pie and mulled wine is provided by Angie and Peter R. A long walk is offered, and Angie asked if a short walk would be good for people. Members agreed that a short walk would be attended. There will now be a 10 mile and a 6 mile walk on 17th Dec.

David N explained that Gabriel’s wife Kay was invited to his memorial walk but was not comfortable attending. It has been left with Kay to decide if she would like us to put on another walk.
Christmas Meal payments are being sent to Ramblers Account this year and Peter would like your payments asap please.
David explained that due to personal reasons he is not walking now so not offering lifts from Cosham.
The WhatsApp lift group was explained and if any members would like to join the need to email Peter R their mobile number and they can be added.
