THE PORTSMOUTH RAMBLERS GROUP MINUTES
OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Held on Saturday 6 November at Liss Pavilion
The AGM commenced at 2.15pm with 28 members present.
Apologies were received from Tina Brake, Mike Powell, John and Liz Marshalsea and Lois
Houston
David Nichols thanked Angie for the walk and Peter for setting up the hall.
Minutes of the AGM held on 14 Nov 2020 were unanimously agreed to be an accurate record.
Matters Arising:
Paul Harvey has resigned from the committee and from Ramblers
David explained that the structure of how we do things has now changed. The programme since we have been able to have one has covered a two month period which members have liked. This is emailed to most members but has been posted out to members who do not use email.
Anne O’Neill who has been the programme distributer for 25 years will now retire from the post. David thanked Anne of behalf of Portsmouth Ramblers for all the work she and her band of helpers have done over the years. Anne has agreed to stay on the committee.
ADOPTION OF THE ANNUAL REPORTS
Officers’ Annual Reports were circulated in advance with the Agenda so members had a chance to study them.
The reports were adopted – unanimously agreed.

The Annual Accounts were circulated in advance with the Agenda so members had a chance to study them.

Peter asked for questions and Barbara Hayers asked if Leaders could claim expenses for reccing walks? Peter said that anyone who puts on walks and cannot afford the expense can now claim for these.
He explained that the self-funded account related to buying some things eg Kissing Gates
ELECTION OF OFFICERS
Paul Harvey is no longer Vice Chair
Peter Rush was nominated by David, seconded by Bernie Tulk – unanimously agreed
Susan Chilton is no longer Secretary
Bernie Tulk was nominated by David and seconded by Angie Bowman – unanimously agreed
Peter Rush will take over as programme distribution secretary and Anne O’Neill was stay as a general member of the committee.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS
There will be a Ramblers Christmas Dinner this year at Portsmouth Rugby Club in Hilsea
Ian has been able to organise this for us and David has printed off details for members to take today and these will also be sent out. Choices and payments to David please.
Trish Byng thanked Bernie and Ian for organising the Monday Shorter walks. David thanks all leaders for their hard work. David was thanked for reinstating lifts from Cosham, it was explained that there is also a WhatsApp group, that members can use to request lifts.
David said that the London walks had restarted, and 24 members attended.
Peter Rush was asked if he was going to start walks along the Shipwrights Way and the South Downs Way. He said that he will start the Shipwrights Way but it will be called In The Sprit of the Shipwrights Way as then we will not have to walk along roads. He hopes this will start on 1st Sat of March.
Anne and Roy asked if we were going to advertise again in The News as we need new members. David said that people are now going online to find details of walks and social media has now taken over.
Group holidays were suggested as these had been successful with South East Hants.
This was discussed and Peter Rush will ask if members are interested.
Ian Chandler said that he is going to organise a trip to Bombay Sapphire Distillery with a walk.
